Iwan Bos is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam.
Prior to joining the ACLE, Iwan studied general economics, quantitative economics and law at the Universiteit van Maastricht, where he received his Master in Economics (supervisor: Jean-Jacques Herings) in April 2003, and his Master of Law (LL.M., supervisor: Nico Roos) in August 2003. In 2002, between January and April, Iwan did an internship at the NMa (the Dutch competition authority). He worked within both the Antitrust Department (CT) and the Merger Control Department (CoCo). Between September 2003 and August 2004, Iwan held a position as junior lecturer in the Economics Department of the Universiteit van Maastricht. He taught a variety of bachelor and master courses in the field of microeconomics, industrial organization and philosophy of science (of history of economics).
Iwan is participating in the Competition & Regulation research program of ACLE, where he is working on a research project titled ‘Incomplete Collusion and Competition Policy: Incidence and Detection'. His supervisors are Arnoud Boot and Maarten Pieter Schinkel. The expected defense date is September 2008.
