Post-Doc Researcher and PhD Student in Banking and Economics/Finance (with an interest in financial regulation)

Description

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at the University of Amsterdam jointly with the Faculty of Law houses the interfaculty research institute Amsterdam Center for Law & Economics (ACLE, www.acle.nl). ACLE plays a leading role in the field of law and economics, with more than twenty faculty members and associated scholars participating in the Center's academic program. 

The ACLE in conjunction with Department of Economics currently has the following two positions available: 

Post-Doc Researcher and PhD Student (AIO) in Banking and Economics/Finance (with an interest in financial regulation)

The current financial crisis challenges researchers with a range of questions about the future design of the financial sector including the role and functions of financial institutions, their interactions with financial markets and the rationale for regulation. These issues are at the heart of the modern research in financial intermediation. The research questions include (further information is available on request):

 1.       Modes of bank intervention policy and their implications in the short and longer term

2.       Market discipline and redesigning the regulatory system

3.       Macroeconomic impact of bank regulation

4.       Economics of securitization

Requirements for post-doc researcher

- PhD in related field
- Ability to produce high quality independent research
- International publications in the general area of finance/economics and financial regulation

Requirements AIO

- The Ph.D candidate is expected to follow the curriculum of the Tinbergen Graduate School.
